We will introduce some recommended spots where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery that is unique to Kamikochi.

    Kappa Bridge

    The most famous tourist spot in Kamikochi. From Kamikochi, one of Japan's most scenic mountain areas, you can see the magnificent view of the Hotaka mountain range towering over you like a folding screen.

    Taisho Pond

    The fantastical scenery of dead trees standing on the water's surface is widely known as a representative view of Kamikochi. The beauty of the Hotaka mountain range reflected on the lake's surface is also magnificent.

    Myojin Pond

    A mysterious pond where water and greenery intertwine. On the shore of the pond is the inner shrine of Hotaka Shrine, and the pond is the sacred grounds of Hotaka Shrine. Every year on October 8th, the annual festival, commonly known as the Boat Festival, is held here.

    Tokusawa

    Tokusawa, the setting for the novel "Ice Wall," was once called Tokusawa Ranch. The area is home to rare grasslands and offers a relaxing, idyllic landscape.

    Yokoo

    A base for climbing in the Northern Alps. A beautiful place where the Yarisawa and Yokoodani join and become the starting point of the Azusa River, where rare mountain wildflowers and birds live.

    Mt. Yakedake

    It is popular with many climbers as a mountain that can be climbed in a day. From the summit, you can enjoy a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view of the Azusa River, the majestic Mount Yari and the Hotaka mountain range, Mount Kasagatake, and Mount Norikura.

    It takes about 4 hours to walk from the hotel to the summit.

    Tashiro Pond

    A shallow marsh pond spreads across a gaping grassland in the middle of a virgin forest. There are several islands in the pond, creating a bright and tranquil landscape that resembles a rice paddy.

    Dakesawa Wetlands

    The view of Mt. Ropyakusan is particularly spectacular from the Dakesawa Wetlands. The beautiful water reflecting the sky is also a highlight. Although it is a small marsh, it is packed with the charm of Kamikochi.

    A magnificent natural view at an altitude of 2156m. Experience the world above the clouds on Japan's only double-decker ropeway.

    It is one of five castles whose castle towers have been designated as national treasures. It is a beautiful castle that stands out against the Northern Alps.

The Kamikochi 2025 season ended on November 15th.

Newly renovated guest rooms and a newly opened bar lounge are also available.
